Mark Battenberg

Canadian composer and performing artist Mark Battenberg has distinguished himself as an accomplished musician and producer. Mark plays acoustic guitar, Celtic harp, upright bass, and cello. He has released seven independent albums, including his latest entitled Morpheus: The God of Dreams.

Among his other collaborations, Mark has produced and performed with the fusion band Gone Fission, which was featured in the TD Jazz Series in Toronto, and has released a CD.

Mark is the producer, writer and performer of the River Spirit Meditations, an on-going concert series in Toronto featuring guest performers including Shakuhachi flute master Debbie Danbrooke, Steve Raimon, and master hypnotist David Powell.

Mark has also produced Pegasus Flight, a fund-raising event for the Pegasus Community Project, which was M.C.’d by the Honorable Maria Minna MP, and which featured Mark playing alongside shakuhachi flute master Debbie Danbrook.

Mark is a graduate of Fanshawe College’s Music Production program, and has participated in Performance Master classes at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Rounding out his musical career, which began in 1985, Mark is a professional guitar teacher and performance coach.
